The total driving distance is around 850–900 km, which takes 18–20 hours, depending on stops, traffic, and weather. It’s usually broken up with an overnight stop in Besham, Chilas, or Naran (seasonal route).
What is the best route from Lahore to Hunza?
The most reliable year-round route is:
Lahore → Islamabad → Mansehra → Besham → Chilas → Hunza (via Karakoram Highway)
The Naran–Babusar Pass route is more scenic but only open from June to October (weather permitting).
Is this trip suitable for families or elderly travelers?
